The Baltimore Ravens made two roster moves Tuesday, waiving linebacker Carl Jones Jr. and releasing wide receiver Shedrick Jackson from the practice squad.
Jones initially joined Baltimore’s practice squad after roster reductions and was elevated for the season-opening victory over the Indianapolis Colts. The Ravens signed him to the active roster on Sept. 19 after placing cornerback T.J. Tampa Jr. on injured reserve. His departure opens a spot on Baltimore’s 53-man roster as the team prepares to host the Tennessee Titans in Week 4. The 6-foot, 223-pound Jones joined the Ravens after previously spending time with the Chicago Bears. Baltimore’s depth at linebacker and on special teams gave Jones a path to the active roster, but the team has elected
to move in another direction after three games.
Jackson’s stay in Baltimore was even shorter. The Ravens signed him to the practice squad Sept. 22, giving the team another developmental option at wide receiver before its trip to Rio de Janeiro. Baltimore released him eight days later without promoting him to the game-day roster.

Waiving Jones and releasing Jackson gives general manager Eric DeCosta room to adjust both the active roster and practice squad following Baltimore’s 34-31 victory over Dallas. Baltimore enters Week 4 at 2-1 and will face Tennessee on Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium.
