The Baltimore Ravens could be without their top two quarterbacks for an extended period after Tyler Huntley reportedly suffered a turf toe injury during Sunday's 36-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills, adding another layer of uncertainty to an already difficult situation at the position.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Huntley is believed to have turf toe and is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the injury's severity and whether he will miss additional time. The news comes as Baltimore prepares to place Lamar Jackson on injured reserve following a right thumb injury that requires surgery and could potentially end his season.
The Ravens have little time to address the situation, with the Jacksonville Jaguars scheduled to visit M&T Bank
Stadium on Thursday night. Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano is currently Baltimore's only healthy quarterback, creating an immediate challenge for head coach Jesse Minter and general manager Eric DeCosta.
Ravens QB Tyler “Snoop” Huntley suffered what is thought to be a turf toe injury today at Buffalo, per source. He is expected to undergo an MRI tomorrow to determine how much time if any he could miss.

Tyler Huntley's injury creates another setback for Ravens
Huntley replaced Jackson during the first quarter Sunday after the two-time NFL MVP injured his throwing hand on Baltimore's opening offensive play. Jackson made contact with Bills defender Greg Rousseau while attempting a pass to Zay Flowers and immediately headed to the locker room for evaluation.
Huntley took over the offense but suffered his own injury during the second quarter when Buffalo safety Cole Bishop sacked him and forced a fumble. The Ravens initially listed Huntley as questionable to return before ruling him out, leaving Fagnano to make his NFL regular-season debut against one of the AFC's top teams.
The veteran quarterback had already started Baltimore's previous three games while Jackson recovered from an ankle injury suffered against Tennessee in Week 4. The Ravens went 1-2 during that stretch, defeating New Orleans before consecutive losses to Cleveland and Cincinnati. Huntley's experience running the offense made him the logical replacement for Jackson, but an extended absence now puts Baltimore in an increasingly difficult position.
Turf toe involves an injury to the ligaments around the big toe joint and can affect a quarterback's ability to push off, move in the pocket, and deliver passes. The severity varies, and the MRI should provide a clearer indication of Huntley's recovery timeline. No definitive diagnosis or timetable has been announced.
Joe Fagnano could make first NFL start against Jaguars
Fagnano was forced into action against Buffalo after injuries sidelined Jackson and Huntley, completing 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards with an interception in Baltimore's 36-10 defeat. The rookie also lost a fumble as the Ravens struggled to move the football against a Buffalo defense that recorded four sacks and consistently pressured Baltimore's quarterbacks.
The former Connecticut standout earned a roster spot following an impressive preseason in which he led the NFL with 509 passing yards. However, Sunday marked his first regular-season action, and preparing him to start on a short week creates another significant challenge for offensive coordinator Declan Doyle.
Baltimore finished with just 144 yards of total offense against Buffalo and fell to 4-4 after its third consecutive defeat. The Ravens have struggled to generate consistent offensive production without Jackson, and the uncertainty surrounding Huntley could force the coaching staff to make further adjustments before facing Jacksonville.
Ravens face urgent decisions at quarterback
Jackson's move to injured reserve means he will miss at least four games, while Huntley's availability remains dependent on the results of Monday's evaluation. With Fagnano currently the only healthy quarterback on the roster, Baltimore may need to explore additional options to provide depth before Thursday's game.
The Ravens entered the season expecting to compete for an AFC North championship, but injuries and inconsistent performances have complicated their path to the postseason. Losing Jackson for an extended period would already be a major setback, and Huntley's potential absence adds pressure to a roster that has struggled to sustain momentum.
Baltimore's immediate priority is determining the severity of Huntley's injury and whether he can recover quickly enough to return. Until those results are available, the Ravens must prepare for the possibility of Fagnano making his first NFL start Thursday night against Jacksonville, with their quarterback situation now among the organization's most pressing concerns.
