The Baltimore Ravenswill return home as one of the NFL’s biggest favorites in Week 2.
Baltimore is an 8.5-point favorite over the New Orleans Saints for Sunday’s matchup at M&T Bank Stadium, according to DraftKings. The line comes after the Ravens opened the season with a 41-23 road win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Lamar Jackson’s history in similar situations provides another reason for confidence in Baltimore. The Ravens are 23-4 during the regular season with Jackson at quarterback when favored by at least seven points at home, an .852 winning percentage.
Baltimore looked the part of a heavy favorite in Week 1. Jackson accounted for 364 total yards and two touchdowns, Derrick Henry rushed for 144 yards and three scores, and Zay Flowers produced
150 receiving yards before leaving with a hamstring injury. New Orleans presents a different challenge after suffering a 31-30 overtime loss to Detroit. The Saints pushed one of the NFC’s top teams to the final possession, making the sizable line less straightforward than the teams’ records might suggest.
The Ravens will also need to reduce the penalties that cost them 86 yards against Indianapolis. Still, Jackson’s home record and Baltimore’s collection of offensive playmakers explain why oddsmakers expect the Ravens to begin the season 2-0.
