Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman said Wednesday that he is still waiting to learn whether he will face NFL discipline following his June arrest in Georgia. Bateman declined to discuss details of the pending legal matter while speaking with reporters as Baltimore prepared for its season opener against the Indianapolis Colts.
“There’s only so much I can say right now,” Bateman said, according to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley. “I’m looking forward to playing football.”
When asked about a possible suspension, Bateman said he had not received a decision from the league.
Bateman was arrested June 3 in Walton County, Georgia, following an alleged incident involving the mother of his child. He faces charges of first-degree criminal damage to property,
family violence battery and reckless conduct.

Bateman’s attorney, Jordan Siev, previously said the family situation had been taken out of context and that the facts would emerge through the legal process.
The Ravens acknowledged the matter after it became public in August, saying they had been in direct communication with Bateman and had notified the NFL. The team also said it was cooperating with the league’s review.
Bateman continued practicing and remained involved in team activities while the legal and NFL processes moved forward. Unless the league announces discipline or places him on an exempt list, he remains eligible to play.
His availability carries significance for Baltimore’s offense. Bateman is expected to start alongside Zay Flowers and serve as one of Lamar Jackson’s primary downfield targets in Declan Doyle’s new system.
For now, Bateman’s status remains unchanged. He is preparing to play while awaiting separate decisions from the legal system and the NFL.
