Ja’Kobi Lane strengthened his case for an immediate offensive role, the Baltimore Ravens’ defense forced several turnovers and Nate Wiggins experienced an injury scare during the team’s sixth training camp practice.
The session also coincided with major organizational news, as Baltimore agreed to a four-year, $140 million extension with Pro Bowl receiver Zay Flowers.
Ja’Kobi Lane continues building trust
Lane was the offensive standout of the practice. ESPN’s Jamison Hensley reported that the rookie used a double move to beat T.J. Tampa before securing an over-the-shoulder touchdown pass from Lamar Jackson during one-on-one drills.
Giana Han reported that head coach Jesse Minter believes Lane’s performance is helping him gain Jackson’s trust. That process remains critical for a young
receiver competing to earn immediate snaps behind Flowers and Rashod Bateman.
Lane has consistently demonstrated the size, physicality and catch radius that made him one of Baltimore’s most intriguing draft additions. His ability to create separation downfield provides another dimension for Declan Doyle’s offense.

Nate Wiggins sustains injury scare
Wiggins intercepted Jackson during seven-on-seven drills but collided with safety Jaylinn Hawkins while making the leaping play, according to The Baltimore Sun’s Brian Wacker.
The cornerback remained down briefly before getting up under his own power. Trainers examined him on the sideline, where he remained standing afterward. The Ravens did not immediately provide additional information about his condition.
Wiggins has been one of Baltimore’s top defensive performers throughout camp, making his status important to monitor.
David Olajiga intercepts Lamar Jackson
David Olajiga produced one of the practice’s most unusual defensive plays. The defensive lineman dropped into coverage during a simulated pressure and intercepted Jackson in front of running back Justice Hill, according to The Baltimore Banner’s Jonas Shaffer.
Roger Rosengarten recovered possession for the offense by forcing a fumble after the interception. The play demonstrated the disguise and positional flexibility Minter wants from his defense.
Marquise Robinson creates two turnovers
Cornerback Marquise Robinson delivered one of his best practices of camp. Wacker reported that Robinson intercepted an underthrown pass from Skylar Thompson during seven-on-seven work. He later stripped receiver Cornelius Johnson from behind and recovered the fumble.
Those plays could help Robinson in a crowded cornerback competition where reserve defensive roles and special-teams value will determine the final roster spots.
Amani Oruwariye joins interception parade
Amani Oruwariye added another turnover by stepping in front of Ty Pezza and intercepting Thompson during 11-on-11 drills, according to Shaffer.
Baltimore has considerable experience and depth at cornerback, but the practice demonstrated how quickly reserve players can force their way into the roster conversation by creating takeaways.
Elijah Sarratt closes practice with a highlight
Elijah Sarratt ended the session with an impressive contested reception against fellow rookie Chandler Rivers. Han reported that Rivers remained in tight coverage, but Sarratt extended to make the catch.
Lane and LaJohntay Wester immediately ran downfield to celebrate with him. The moment provided another encouraging sign for a young receiver room competing for roles behind Baltimore’s established starters.
Zay Flowers receives record extension
The biggest Ravens development arrived away from the practice field. Baltimore agreed to a four-year, $140 million extension with Flowers, securing Jackson’s leading receiver for the long term.
The agreement averages $35 million per season and makes Flowers the highest-paid wide receiver in Ravens history. It also removes a potential contractual distraction while reinforcing Baltimore’s commitment to retaining the foundational players it drafts and develops.
