The Baltimore Ravens will begin training camp with six defensive players on the active/physically unable to perform list, creating immediate opportunities for several young players and reserves during the opening practices.
Defensive linemen Nnamdi Madubuike, Travis Jones and John Jenkins were placed on the list, along with inside linebacker Teddye Buchanan, outside linebacker Adisa Isaac and cornerback Bilhal Kone. Players on active/PUP continue counting against the 90-man roster and can be activated at any point during training camp.
Madubuike’s designation is precautionary, following clearance from independent spine and cervical specialists. According to The Athletic, the Ravens want to evaluate his conditioning and allow him to reacclimate
before returning him to practice. He could participate as early as next week after missing most of the 2025 season with a career-threatening neck injury.

-DL Nnamdi Madubuike (neck)
-DL Travis Jones
-DL John Jenkins
-ILB Teddye Buchanan (knee)
-OLB Adisa Isaac (elbow)
-CB Bilhal Kone (knee)
Baltimore did not disclose injuries for Jones or Jenkins when announcing the transactions. Their absences leave the Ravens without three experienced defensive linemen at the start of camp, creating additional practice repetitions for Campbell, Aeneas Peebles, Rayshaun Benny and C.J. Okoye.
Buchanan continues recovering from the torn ACL he suffered in Week 15 last season. He played 651 defensive snaps before the injury and remains a candidate for a significant role next to Roquan Smith once healthy. Until Buchanan returns, Trenton Simpson will have an opportunity to strengthen his position in the inside linebacker competition.
Isaac is working back from an elbow injury, while Kone continues rehabilitating the knee injury that ended his 2025 season. Both players were able to participate in limited positional work during minicamp, according to The Baltimore Banner.
The timing of each return will vary, but opening camp on active/PUP is not an indication that any player will miss regular-season games. Baltimore can remove players from the list as soon as they pass their physicals.
The early absences will test the defense’s depth. They will also provide valuable evaluation time for younger players competing to earn rotational roles.
