Baltimore opened its season with a 41-23 victory over Indianapolis, but the performance included dominant individual efforts and several correctable mistakes.
Stud: Derrick Henry
Henry rushed 24 times for 144 yards and three touchdowns. He consistently wore down Indianapolis’ defense and produced his 26th career game with at least 100 rushing yards and multiple touchdowns.
Stud: Lamar Jackson
Jackson completed 17 of 25 passes for 324 yards and one touchdown while adding 43 yards on the ground. He repeatedly escaped pressure and converted broken plays into first downs.
Stud: Zay Flowers
Flowers caught five passes for 150 yards and a 54-yard touchdown before being ruled out with a hamstring injury. Indianapolis had no answer for his movement or speed in space.
Stud: Marlon Humphrey
Humphrey forced and recovered a Taylor fumble,
giving Baltimore possession near midfield. He briefly required medical attention in the fourth quarter but returned.
Stud: Tyler Loop
Loop converted a career-long 57-yard field goal before halftime and added a 45-yarder in the fourth quarter.
Dud: Offensive penalties
Baltimore committed 10 penalties for 86 yards. Gwyn and Ioane had holding calls erase productive plays, while Justice Hill committed a false start and a holding penalty during the same possession.
Dud: Ball security
Jackson’s strip-sack gave Indianapolis a short field and helped the Colts remain competitive.
Dud: Injury luck
Flowers and Lane were ruled out, while T.J. Tampa also left the game. Baltimore’s Week 2 injury report will require close attention.
