The Baltimore Ravens continued reducing their roster Saturday by moving on from four players, including one of their 2026 draft picks. Baltimore is waiving undrafted defensive lineman Dion Wilson Jr., seventh-round rookie Evan Beernsten and undrafted running back Dontae McMillan, according to reports from Jeff Zrebiec and Josh Tolentino.
The Ravens are also releasing veteran running back Jonathan Ward, according to Aaron Wilson. Ward is expected to return to Baltimore’s practice squad if he becomes available. Beernsten’s departure is the most notable of the moves because Baltimore used a draft pick on him. His release shows how difficult it is to earn a place on one of the NFL’s deepest rosters, even for players selected in the draft.
McMillan
produced one of Baltimore’s most memorable plays in its 41-3 preseason-finale victory over the Washington Commanders, breaking free for a 63-yard run. That performance was not enough to secure a position in a backfield led by Derrick Henry and Justice Hill, with fifth-round rookie Adam Randall expected to make the team.
Ward provided experience and depth during training camp. Baltimore’s interest in bringing him back on the practice squad suggests the organization still values what he can offer if injuries create a need during the season.
Wilson faced significant competition along a crowded defensive front. His departure and Beernsten’s release further clarify the position battles as Baltimore works toward its initial 53-man roster.
All four players could remain possibilities for the practice squad if they are available after the NFL’s roster-cut process.
