Zay Flowers was among four Ravens who missed Wednesday’s practice, according to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley. With Baltimore preparing to face Dallas in Brazil, his hamstring remains the injury with the clearest implications for the offense. Flowers, left tackle Ronnie Stanley (toe), and outside linebacker Trey Hendrickson (finger) did not practice. Defensive end Calais Campbell also sat out in what Hensley indicated was likely a rest day. A missed Wednesday practice does not determine anyone’s game status, but Flowers’ availability deserves close attention after he missed Baltimore’s Week 2 loss to New Orleans.

Flowers caught five passes for 150 yards and a touchdown before leaving the season opener against Indianapolis. Without him against the Saints, Rashod Bateman supplied a touchdown, and Chris Moore provided a downfield threat, but Baltimore scored only 17 points and lost after leading in the fourth quarter. Flowers’ speed forces a defense to account for him beyond the plays on which he catches the ball. If he cannot play against Dallas, Bateman, Moore and the rest of the receiving group will need to create enough space for Lamar Jackson to keep the offense balanced. Stanley’s practice status also matters as Baltimore works to protect Jackson and sustain drives.
Thursday and Friday’s participation reports should provide a clearer picture. For now, the Ravens are preparing for a Cowboys defense, knowing their offense has been far more productive on the drives Flowers has played.
