The Ravens could bring back one of their most promising rookies for Sunday’s AFC North matchup against the Browns. Wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane is expected to return to practice Wednesday, four weeks after wrist surgery, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport reported.
Lane suffered the injury during Baltimore’s season-opening win over the Colts and was placed on injured reserve Sept. 16. The third-round pick out of USC caught one 11-yard pass in his NFL debut and had a touchdown reception wiped out by a holding penalty. He has missed the Ravens’ past four games and is eligible to return against Cleveland.
The 6-foot-4 receiver was positioned for a significant role after an impressive training camp and preseason, entering the opener as Baltimore’s
No. 3 receiver. His return would give offensive coordinator Declan Doyle another option alongside Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman and Devontez Walker, with the size to offer an additional target on contested throws and near the goal line. Coach Jesse Minter said Monday that Lane could return against the Browns and praised the rookie’s conditioning during his recovery. “He’s in a real good place from a conditioning standpoint,” Minter said. “We’ll see how that shakes out on Wednesday.”

Lane’s expected return from practice comes as Baltimore could also get Lamar Jackson back from an ankle injury. The Ravens enter Week 6 at 4-1, with a chance to regain two players expected to be central to their passing game. Lane’s work this week will help determine whether his return extends to Sunday’s lineup.
