The Ravens could have Lamar Jackson back for their first AFC North matchup of the season. The quarterback has a “realistic chance” to return for Sunday’s game at Cleveland, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday, citing a league source.
Jackson has been sidelined by an ankle injury suffered during Baltimore’s Week 4 win over the Titans. He missed the second half of that game and sat out Sunday’s 30-23 overtime victory over Atlanta. Coach Jesse Minter said Monday that Jackson was “definitely doing better,” though he hadn't decided whether the quarterback would practice Wednesday. Tyler Huntley kept Baltimore moving in Jackson’s absence, completing 24 of 32 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns against the Falcons. He also scored the winning
touchdown on a quarterback sneak in overtime, helping the Ravens improve to 4-1 and remain atop the AFC North. Cleveland enters Sunday’s matchup at 3-2.

Jackson’s potential return would give Baltimore its most dangerous offensive weapon for a game with immediate division implications. His ability to threaten defenses as both a passer and runner would expand offensive coordinator Declan Doyle's options and create another challenge for Cleveland alongside Derrick Henry.
The next checkpoint is Jackson’s participation in practice and how his ankle responds as Baltimore prepares for the Browns. Schefter’s report gives the Ravens reason to be optimistic, with the possibility that Jackson’s absence could be limited to one game.
