The Baltimore Ravens entered Week 8 seeking a win that could help them keep pace in the AFC playoff race. Instead, Sunday's 36-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills left Baltimore at 4-4, with its postseason path becoming increasingly difficult.
The Ravens have lost three consecutive games and are winless in two AFC North matchups, creating a difficult combination as the season approaches its midpoint.

Ravens continue losing ground in AFC
Buffalo improved to 6-1 with Sunday's victory, strengthening its position among the conference's leading teams.
Baltimore, meanwhile, has fallen to .500 while competing against several teams with winning records for the AFC's seven playoff berths. Pittsburgh improved to 6-2 after defeating Cleveland 27-6, while the Browns fell to 5-3. Cincinnati also entered
Week 8 ahead of Baltimore in winning percentage. The Ravens must also contend with teams outside the AFC North, including Denver, New England, and other potential wild-card contenders.
Head-to-head losses complicate playoff path
Baltimore has already lost to Cleveland and Cincinnati, creating potential disadvantages if the division race or wild-card standings become dependent on tiebreakers. The Ravens have opportunities to recover, but they must win more consistently against both division rivals and conference opponents.
The immediate concern is quarterback Lamar Jackson's condition, as he injured his right thumb Sunday after returning from a three-game absence due to a high ankle sprain. Backup Tyler Huntley also suffered a toe injury, while rookie Joe Fagnano absorbed repeated hits in relief.
Thursday's matchup becomes increasingly important
The Ravens will host Jacksonville on Thursday night, giving Baltimore only a short turnaround before another AFC matchup. A win would move the Ravens back above .500 and give them a chance to stabilize their season. Another loss would leave Baltimore at 4-5, making the remaining schedule considerably more demanding.
There is still time to recover, but the Ravens need immediate improvement in quarterback health, offensive protection, and second-half execution to remain competitive in the AFC playoff race.
