Derrick Henry rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns, Lamar Jackson passed for 324 yards, and the Baltimore Ravens opened the Jesse Minter era with a 41-23 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Baltimore produced 506 total yards despite committing 10 penalties for 86 yards and losing two wide receivers to injuries.
Zay Flowers caught five passes for 150 yards and one touchdown before being ruled out with a hamstring injury. Rookie Ja’Kobi Lane was ruled out with a wrist injury, leaving Baltimore with Rashod Bateman, Chris Moore and LaJohntay Wester at wide receiver. Moore, elevated from the practice squad Saturday, provided one of the game’s biggest plays with a 53-yard reception along the sideline.
Jackson completed 17 of 25 attempts
and added 43 rushing yards. Henry carried 24 times and scored on runs of 4, 32, and 3 yards. His performance marked the 26th game of his career with at least 100 rushing yards and multiple rushing touchdowns, breaking a tie with Jim Brown and LaDainian Tomlinson for the most in NFL history.
Baltimore’s defense forced two turnovers. Roquan Smith intercepted Daniel Jones, while Marlon Humphrey stripped Jonathan Taylor and recovered the fumble. Jones finished with 166 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Taylor rushed for 98 yards and two scores.
Tyler Loop converted field goals from 57 and 45 yards. Malaki Starks sealed the victory by sacking Jones on fourth down late in the fourth quarter.
