Tyler Huntley opened the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 6 matchup against theCleveland Browns, looking capable of keeping the offense on schedule without QB1 Lamar Jackson. The momentum gained in Week 5 seemed likely tocarry over. He completed all four passes on the opening possession and tossed Josh Cuevas his first career touchdown reception.
Overall, Huntley opened with a touchdown drive, but Baltimore’s offense produced only three more points in a 13-10 loss to Cleveland. He finished 19-of-31 for 165 yards and a touchdown without an interception, though two dangerous throws gave the Browns chances to take possession.
He followed that performance with a promising second drive. The problem was that the early rhythm never developed into sustained production.
Huntley finished 19-of-31 for 165 yards and one touchdown. He avoided throwing an interception, but it wasn't enough.
Huntley entered Week 6 looking to build on a strong performance against the Atlanta Falcons. Instead, Baltimore's offense lost its rhythm, and its quarterback struggled to generate the consistency needed to keep the team ahead. The Browns deserve credit for adjusting defensively, but Huntley also had opportunities to make plays that could have changed the game's course.
There is a difference between a quarterback who can't make the necessary throws and one who doesn't make them consistently enough. Huntley showed he could deliver accurate passes under pressure, but a few missed connections and dangerous decisions complicated an already difficult afternoon. Here's how his Week 6 performance grades out as we close the book on this game and look ahead to another AFC North clash.
Tyler Huntley's best throws: Finding Cuevas and converting under pressure
Huntley’s most productive connection came with Cuevas for six points. After the opening touchdown, he found the tight end for a 29-yard gain on the next possession, rolling left off play-action and delivering the ball while taking a hit. The ensuing roughing-the-passer penalty added 15 yards, making the play even more valuable.

This is sick: #Ravens OC Declan Doyle lined up TE Josh Cuevas at LG, then released him into a route for a 29-yard gain.

Because Cuevas was off the line of scrimmage, he was eligible to go downfield.

He also showed composure on third-and-10 from Baltimore’s 2-yard line late in the first half. With 4:32 remaining in the second quarter, he hit Ja’Kobi Lane on a slant just beyond the approaching Carson Schwesinger. Huntley later connected with Zay Flowers for 17 yards on another third-and-10 on that same drive with 3:01 remaining before halftime.
The drive eventually stalled after two sacks. Huntley, however, showed some decent arm talent.
Accuracy and ball location: C
Huntley put the ball in catchable positions on several important completions, but his inconsistency limited the offense. His most glaring miss came on third-and-8 in the red zone during the second offensive drive.
He sailed a pass over Rashod Bateman. The route appeared to stop short of the first-down marker, and with a defender bearing down, the chains may not have moved anyway. Still, the throw needed to give Bateman a chance to catch it. The drive produced three points, which is decent, but you'd like to see the Ravens' offense finish a red-zone trip with six points, with the extra point pending, rather than three.
Vision and dissection: C-
Tyler Huntley found opportunities against Cleveland’s coverage, particularly when working the middle of the field. Still, he didn't consistently identify the safest option as the Browns tightened their coverage and pressured him. The offense needed more answers once the initial scripted possessions ended, but Baltimore's inability to find traction and a strong Browns defense made it hard to overcome.
Toughness, intangibles and off-script plays: B-
Huntley showed toughness when the pocket became uncomfortable, and his willingness to extend plays helped Baltimore avoid a few potential drive-killers. The 29-yard completion to Cuevas stood out because Huntley delivered the ball while absorbing contact. He was rewarded for that courage with a 15-yard roughing-the-passer penalty that moved the ball further downfield.
Those flashes weren't enough to offset the offense's extended stretches of inactivity. Huntley did what he could to keep plays alive, but Baltimore needed more than a handful of encouraging moments to overcome Cleveland's defensive adjustments.
Decision-making: D+
Huntley's most concerning decisions came when he abandoned a play's structure without securing a clear advantage. In the third quarter, he scrambled to his right before throwing across his body toward Flowers, giving cornerback Denzel Ward a chance to intercept the pass. Ward nearly made him pay for the decision, and the Ravens were fortunate to retain possession.
Huntley got another reprieve in the fourth quarter when safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren dropped a potential interception on a pass intended for Flowers. Neither play ended in a turnover, but both exposed the risk Baltimore took by having its quarterback try to manufacture something that wasn't there. Avoiding interceptions is important, but the near misses shouldn't be mistaken for consistently sound decision-making.
Leadership: B-
Huntley gave the Ravens an early lift and didn't stop competing when the offense began to sputter. His opening touchdown drive showed he could step into the starting role and execute, while his third-down completions helped Baltimore escape difficult field positions.
Still, leadership at quarterback also means helping the offense respond when the opposition adjusts. After the opening scoring drive, Baltimore struggled to sustain possessions, and the early promise faded. Huntley deserves credit for battling through pressure, but he couldn't spark the offense again.
Overall grade: C-
Huntley's performance against Cleveland was a mix of encouraging throws and costly near-misses. His early connection with Cuevas gave Baltimore a glimpse of what the offense could look like with him under center. However, the missed red-zone opportunity and two dangerous throws toward Flowers made it hard to give him an above-average passing grade.
The Ravens' offensive problems extended beyond their quarterback, particularly as Cleveland adjusted and the pass rush began to affect the game. Even so, Huntley had chances to change the outcome, but he didn't consistently capitalize.
Baltimore will need more dependable quarterback play to avoid another frustrating afternoon in its next AFC North matchup. The major question is whether Lamar Jackson will deliver that play or Huntley will be under center again next week.
