The Baltimore Ravens worked out three interior offensive linemen Tuesday as the team evaluates its options following injuries to centers Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Pocic. According to the NFL transaction wire
, Baltimore hosted centers Graham Glasgow and Kingsley Eguakun, along with guard Kyle Hergel. The Ravens could sign one or more linemen this week, particularly if Gwyn or Pocic is placed on injured reserve.Glasgow is easily the most experienced member of the group. The 34-year-old has made 136 career starts during stints with the Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos, providing experience at center and both guard positions. He made 14 starts for Detroit last season and would give Baltimore a veteran who can step into the lineup immediately.
Eguakun,
25, made two starts at center for the Lions last season. He lacks Glasgow’s experience but could provide a younger, more traditional option behind first-round rookie Vega Ioane. Hergel, 26, appeared in eight games for the New Orleans Saints last season and would add interior depth.
The Ravens’ need became urgent during Sunday’s 34-31 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Gwyn was carted off with an ankle injury in the second half, while Pocic departed with a knee injury late in the fourth quarter. Head coach Jesse Minter said Monday that both injuries appeared to be longer-term issues. Ioane moved from right guard to center after Pocic’s departure and handled the emergency assignment without an obvious breakdown. Andrew Vorhees replaced Ioane at right guard, allowing Baltimore to finish the game with its third option at center.
Minter said Ioane will prepare to play center against the Tennessee Titans, but adding an experienced lineman would protect the Ravens against another injury and give the coaching staff greater flexibility. Glasgow’s extensive starting experience makes him the most logical immediate option, while Eguakun and Hergel could provide developmental depth if Baltimore decides to make multiple additions.
