Nate Wiggins entered his third NFL season carrying Pro Bowl expectations. His performance in the Baltimore Ravens’ 41-23 victory over the Indianapolis Colts offered an early indication that he is prepared to meet them. Wiggins allowed no receptions on two targets across 34 coverage snaps, according to Next Gen Stats. As ESPN analytics writer Seth Walder noted, Wiggins was the only outside cornerback through the reported portion of Week 1 to play at least 25 coverage snaps without surrendering a catch.
The Colts did not challenge Wiggins often, but that helped make his performance encouraging. He remained disciplined in coverage, eliminated opportunities on his side of the field, and helped Baltimore hold Daniel Jones to 166 passing yards.

Wiggins played 52 of the Ravens’ 54 defensive snaps, establishing himself as one of the central pieces in Jesse Minter and Anthony Weaver’s secondary. His combination of length, recovery speed, and confidence gives Baltimore the option to leave him isolated against opposing receivers while devoting additional resources elsewhere.
Sunday’s performance followed a productive 2025 season in which Wiggins recorded 76 tackles, three interceptions and a team-leading 14 passes defended. The next step is turning that production into consistent shutdown performances against the league’s top wideouts. One game will not secure postseason honors, and a limited number of targets can make a cornerback’s statistical impact difficult to measure. Still, preventing every pass in his direction from being completed is a strong opening statement.
If Wiggins continues eliminating receivers with that level of consistency, his first Pro Bowl selection could become the floor rather than the ceiling. All-Pro recognition is now a realistic goal for one of Baltimore’s fastest-rising defensive stars.
