It wasn't always pretty, but sometimes the NFL is like that. The Baltimore Ravens improved to 3-1 Sunday with a victory over the Tennessee Titans. That marked their first consecutive wins of the season. Baltimore protected its home turf for the first time since last season and avoided back-to-back losses at M&T Bank Stadium.
As encouraging as the final result was, the performance itself was far from perfect. Baltimore showed flashes of dominance, overcame several injuries, and received contributions from both sides of the ball. Still, the game also exposed concerns that could become more problematic against stronger opponents. Here's the good, the bad, and the ugly from Baltimore's Week 4 victory.
The good things we saw during the Ravens' win over the Titans
The Ravens entered the game with questions about
their offensive line after losing both Ethan Pocic and Jovaughn Gwyn in Brazil. Those concerns only intensified when Andrew Vorhees left with a foot injury.
Despite the constant shuffling, Baltimore largely neutralized one of Tennessee's biggest defensive threats. According to Next Gen Stats, Jeffery Simmons generated only one pressure on 32 pass-rush opportunities. His lone pressure came against Vorhees, and Simmons failed to consistently disrupt Baltimore's offense despite lining up against an inexperienced interior group.
The defense also produced several momentum-changing plays. Trenton Simpson recorded his first interception, while Baltimore's front consistently prevented Tennessee from finding rhythm on third down. The Titans converted just two of 10 opportunities and rarely generated explosive plays after the opening quarter.

The Ravens showed resilience as injuries piled up. Tyler Huntley entered and completed eight of nine passes while helping Baltimore finish the game without panic or major mistakes.
The bad news from the Ravens' win over Tennessee
Baltimore's injury report grew significantly. Marlon Humphrey exited with a calf injury. Durham Smythe suffered an Achilles injury, and Vorhees couldn't return after hurting his foot.
Jackson left the game wearing a protective boot on his left ankle. Those situations will dominate conversations throughout the week, particularly Jackson's status.

The Ravens also struggled with discipline. Baltimore committed 13 penalties for 131 yards, repeatedly extending drives or putting itself behind schedule offensively. Some calls frustrated fans, but the overall number remains far too high for a team with postseason aspirations.
The downright ugly
The Ravens built a comfortable lead and never truly appeared in danger of losing, but the second-half offense disappeared. Baltimore failed to score after halftime and produced punts on four of its first five second-half possessions before missing a field goal on another drive. The offense converted only two of 10 third-down attempts and struggled to sustain momentum once Tennessee adjusted.
Baltimore's defense also started poorly. The Titans opened the game with a methodical 70-yard touchdown drive that consumed more than six minutes and ended with Tony Pollard reaching the end zone. The Ravens ultimately corrected those issues and earned the win, but injuries, penalties, and offensive stagnation ensured Sunday's performance was far from complete. Against Tennessee, Baltimore had enough talent to overcome those flaws. Future opponents may not be as forgiving.
Good teams win games they should win. Great teams leave little doubt. Baltimore handled its business against Tennessee and improved in the win, but the lingering discussion won't be about the final score. It will be about whether the Ravens can eliminate the mistakes, penalties, and lapses that keep surfacing at inopportune moments.
