The Baltimore Ravens could look to the NFL’s three winless teams for reinforcements as they try to build on a 4-1 start.
The Chargers, Dolphins, and Titans each fell to 0-5 on Sunday, potentially creating opportunities for contenders willing to exchange draft capital for veteran help. Baltimore has already addressed one major need by acquiring center Cam Jurgens from Philadelphia, but injuries have created other areas to evaluate.
These five players could fit the roster. Their inclusion reflects Baltimore’s needs, contracts, and potential roles, not confirmed trade discussions.
Khalil Mack, OLB, Chargers
Mack is the player on the list that makes the most sense and can create the most chaos. The 35-year-old signed a one-year, $18 million contract to remain with Los Angeles
and recorded 5.5 sacks and four forced fumbles in 12 games last season. He also played under Jesse Minter with the Chargers, giving Baltimore familiarity with his abilities. Pairing Mack with Trey Hendrickson would add another experienced edge defender while letting the Ravens manage their younger rushers’ workloads. The remaining compensation and Los Angeles’ willingness to move him would be major considerations.
Josh Uche, EDGE, Dolphins
Uche offers a different approach to the same need: adding a rotational pass rusher instead of pursuing a bigger acquisition. He has 20 tackles and one sack through five games with Miami and is playing on a one-year contract worth about $1.4 million. Baltimore could evaluate him for passing situations and depth behind Hendrickson and Mike Green. His modest contract makes him worth investigating, but the Ravens would need to see a clear role before surrendering a pick.
Tony Adams, S, Titans
Adams would provide experienced safety depth and another option for personnel packages that use Kyle Hamilton near the line of scrimmage. He made 36 starts during four seasons with the Jets before joining Tennessee on a one-year, $2.14 million contract. His fit would depend on coverage responsibilities and special teams value, not on expectations that he would displace an established starter. An expiring contract makes him a more practical player to evaluate than pursuing a costly long-term defensive cornerstone.
Jalen Tolbert, WR, Dolphins
Tolbert offers an experienced outside receiving option behind Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. He caught 49 passes for 610 yards and seven touchdowns with Dallas in 2024 before his opportunities declined the following season. Miami signed him to a one-year contract worth about $1.4 million. His limited production with the Dolphins this season keeps expectations modest, and Ja’Kobi Lane’s potential return could reduce Baltimore’s need. Tolbert would be worth considering only if the Ravens identify a useful role in their receiver rotation.
Charlie Kolar, TE, Chargers
Kolar offers a familiar blocking option after Baltimore placed Durham Smythe on injured reserve with an Achilles injury. The former Raven joined Los Angeles on a multiyear contract, and his blocking could help support Derrick Henry while complementing Mark Andrews’ receiving role. This deal would be harder to envision: The Chargers prioritized Kolar in free agency and now have David Njoku on injured reserve. Baltimore would need Los Angeles to reconsider its tight end allocation before a reunion became realistic.
Final thoughts
Mack offers the greatest potential impact, while Uche and Adams provide more modest ways to strengthen the defense. Baltimore can afford to be selective as it evaluates returning players and determines which additions would improve its postseason outlook.
