Baltimore’s wide receiver depth has been pushed to the limit against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Ravens ruled out rookie Ja’Kobi Lane with a wrist injury, leaving them without three of their top four wide receivers. Lane caught one pass for 11 yards on three targets before his NFL debut ended early. Zay Flowers was questionable to return with a hamstring injury, and he's now out after catching five passes for 150 yards and one touchdown. Devontez Walker was inactive for the season opener because of a groin injury.
That leaves Rashod Bateman, Chris Moore and LaJohntay Wester as Baltimore’s three available wide receivers. The Ravens may need to lean more on tight ends Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likely, and Matt Hibner, along with running backs Derrick
Henry and Adam Randall, in the passing game.

Lane, the No. 80 overall pick in April’s draft, earned an immediate role after an impressive training camp and preseason. The 6-foot-4 receiver was expected to provide Lamar Jackson with a bigger target on the outside and in the red zone.
His departure came after Flowers’ explosive start was interrupted by his hamstring injury, turning what had been a dominant afternoon for Baltimore’s passing attack into a significant test of the team’s depth.
