The Wheels aren't falling off for Jesse Minter's team, but things are starting to get concerning without Lamar Jackson. Baltimore surrendered 35 unanswered points and lost 35-13 to Cincinnati on Sunday, falling to 4-3 after its second consecutive defeat and dropping to 0-2 in the AFC North. The Ravens now sit fourth in the division.
Zay Flowers and Mike Green supplied positives, but red-zone failures and defensive breakdowns overwhelmed Baltimore against Cincinnati.
Here are the studs and duds from Sunday's loss.
Stud: Zay Flowers. Eight catches, 137 yards, and a 48-yard touchdown gave Baltimore its most consistent individual offensive production.
Stud: Tyler Loop. Loop converted both field-goal attempts, from 34 and 24 yards, and his extra point.
He accounted for seven of Baltimore’s 13 points.
Positive: Mike Green. Green recorded two solo tackles, a sack, and a tackle for loss. His sack helped keep the first half scoreless for Cincinnati.
Dud: Second-half defense. Five consecutive touchdown drives turned a 13-point lead into a 22-point deficit.
Dud: Offensive discipline. Ten penalties for 57 yards included repeated pre-snap mistakes that created unnecessary difficulty.
Dud: Red-zone execution. Baltimore failed to score a touchdown on three trips and converted neither fourth-down attempt.
Mixed Reviews: Tyler Huntley. His 298 passing yards and strong first half deserve credit. His second-half production, interception, and inability to finish scoring opportunities also deserve evaluation.
Biggest shock Dud: Marlon Humphrey and the Ravens’ secondary
Marlon Humphrey and the Ravens’ secondary had no answers once Joe Burrow found his rhythm after halftime. Burrow completed 16 of 18 second-half passes for 249 yards and four touchdowns, helping Cincinnati turn a 13-0 deficit into a 35-13 victory. Tee Higgins did the most damage, collecting all six of his receptions for 148 yards and a touchdown after the break. Ja’Marr Chase added five catches for 62 yards and a score, giving Cincinnati’s top receivers 210 yards and two touchdowns combined. Baltimore failed to contain explosive plays or get off the field as the Bengals scored touchdowns on their first five second-half possessions.
