Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown has played like one of the nation's top quarterbacks in recent years. Now at Auburn, he is paid like one.
According to a report by Pete Nakos of On3
, the new Auburn signal caller is making $3 million to play for the Tigers this season after transferring from USF. He joins Washington's Demond Williams, Indiana's Josh Hoover, and Oregon's Dante Moore as one of college football's highest-paid quarterbacks.Brown was an electrifying quarterback at USF, with his most impressive season taking place last year. As a junior with the Bulls, Brown passed for at least 200 yards in every game and rushed for 100 yards, becoming the only quarterback in college football to pass for over 3,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards.

posted a four-game stretch last season in which he passed for at least 200 yards and rushed for 100 yards. His best performance of the season came against Navy when he passed for 327 yards and rushed for 136 yards.
This season, he follows his head coach, Alex Golesh, and offensive coordinator, Joel Gordon, from USF to Auburn in hopes of turning in another impressive year while competing against Power Four defenses. Brown will also hope to live up to his $3 million payday, which is higher than several of his SEC counterparts, including Lanorris Sellers, Arch Manning, and Jared Curtis.
