Saturday's SEC battle between the Auburn Tigers and Vanderbilt Commodores featured a wide time-of-possession gap, but the discrepancy in plays run by Auburn's offense and defense remained thin.
According to Pro Football Focus data, Auburn's offense logged 60 plays in 22:32 of game time in its 21-15 win over Vanderbilt, compared to the defense, which ran 78 plays over 37:28. Auburn's offense was rather swift with its opportunities as they averaged 2:14 per possession, with its longest possession being its final one that covered 45 yards on 11 plays over the final 6:26 of the game. Vanderbilt was more selfish with the football, especially in the second half, as two of their final three possessions lasted over 7:23 each and covered 30 plays.

of Auburn's offensive players, including four offensive linemen, played every snap due to the Tigers' low time of possession. Auburn shuffled a few players on defense, with 21 different players getting the chance to compete on Saturday. Zero players stayed on the field the entire game, but one player played 73 snaps, while four others stayed on the field for over 60 snaps.

Auburn's snap count leaders on offense
Auburn shuffled its offensive line on Saturday by starting Stanton Ramil at right tackle, Kenneth McManus at right guard, Cole Best at center, Wilson Zierer at left guard, with Jacob Strand and Jo Simmons splitting time at left tackle. Simmons saw most of the snaps at left tackle (39) despite not being credited with the start. Simmons, Zierer, and Ramil recorded snaps at multiple positions on Auburn's offensive line.
Auburn also built a steady running back rotation. Jeremiah Cobb took the bulk of the snaps at running back, with Omar Mabson and Bryson Washington each getting over 15 snaps.
Auburn's snap count leaders on defense
There is a correlation between Auburn's top defensive stars and how many snaps each one played. Xavier Atkins, Kaleb Harris, and Elijah Melendez were top tacklers for the Auburn Tigers on Saturday, and they ended the game in the top four in snaps played.
Perhaps the most notable defensive player was Jourdin Crawford, who logged five tackles and 1/2 sacks in just 19 snaps.
