The Auburn Tigers handled business on Saturday by downing the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, 43-9, in Jordan-Hare Stadium to move to 2-0 on the young season.
The Tigers clicked on many cylinders, which opened the door for many players to see the field. According to Pro Football Focus data from the game, 59 players played at least one snap on Saturday, with the bulk of the traffic coming from the offensive side of the ball. Nine receivers and five tight ends saw action for Auburn while four running backs were used in the win. Byrum Brown played three full quarters at quarterback, which paved the way for Oregon State transfer Tristan Ti'a to participate in 17 snaps during the final 15 minutes.
Auburn was also consistent with its offensive line use
as three starters played exactly 73 snaps. Freshman Wilson Zeirer was the most versatile lineman of the game, playing 45 snaps at left guard and 14 at right tackle. In all, 10 offensive linemen played at least 10 snaps in the game.
Defensively, every participant played no less than nine snaps and no more than 45. Defensive hero Andre Jordan Jr. played the most snaps on Saturday and was closely followed by fellow defensive backs Eric Winters and Kaleb Harris.
