Auburn football bounced back from its Week 3 loss to No. 8 Florida by taking down Vanderbilt at home last Saturday, 21-15. The win was Auburn's first SEC win inside Jordan-Hare Stadium since Nov. 23, 2024 when the Tigers took down Texas A&M in four overtimes. The win was also the first SEC win for Auburn under the direction of Alex Golesh.
Auburn football is now 3-1 on the season and is ready to embark on its first true road trip of the season. Auburn will battle No. 17 Tennessee on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT in Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Tigers are 1-1 in SEC play with a win over Vanderbilt and a loss to Florida while Tennessee dropped its SEC opener last weekend to Texas.

Tennessee holds the advantage in several categories, with points per game and rushing being the greatest difference. The Volunteers score 40 points per game, which is 10 more than Auburn averages. Auburn also allows 20 points per game compared to Tennessee's 10. The Volunteers rank third in the SEC in rushing with 241.5 yards on the ground per game while Auburn allows 127 rushing yards per game, which ranks 15th among SEC teams.
One difference maker could be the passing game. Auburn ranks No. 10 in the SEC by passing for 235 yards per game, and will go against Tennessee's second-ranked pass defense that allows 171 yards per game. If Auburn manages to be successful through the air, it could give them an advantage.
