The Auburn Tigers enter a new era under first-year head coach Alex Golesh with fair expectations, especially in the preseason polls.

The preseason US LBM Coaches Poll

was released on Tuesday, and the Auburn Tigers found themselves on the outside looking in by residing in the "receiving votes" category with 29 votes. Auburn joins SEC rivals Vanderbilt, Florida, and South Carolina in receiving votes in the initial poll.

Nine SEC teams will start the season in the top 25 of the US LBM Coaches Poll, with Georgia leading the way at No. 3. Texas rounds out the SEC's representation in the top five at No. 4, with Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Ole Miss in the top 10. Alabama is just outside the top 10 at No. 11, and LSU will start the season at No. 14 under

first-year head coach Lane Kiffin. Tennessee and Missouri bring up the rear at No. 18 and No. 25, respectively.

Auburn football will face another tough challenge this season as half of its opponents are included in the debut coaches poll. Five of Auburn's opponents are ranked in the top 25, while Florida is just outside the poll. Auburn will face two top-10 squads in Georgia (No. 3) and Ole Miss (No. 10), and three in the top 20 (Alabama, LSU, Tennessee).
