Jackson Koivun remains alive in the Rocket Classic as day three approaches.
Through two days of action at the Detroit Country Club in Detroit, Michigan, Koivun is shooting four under par after finishing day two on Friday at two under and 67 overall. A key highlight from Friday's action included a chip to close the front nine with a 31.
He enters Saturday's action tied at No. 48 alongside Beau Hossler, Harris English, and Max Greyserman, among others.
Koivun needs a strong day on Saturday to keep his championship hopes alive and to clinch his second PGA win in as many weekends. He is six strokes behind leaders Patrick Fishburn, Patrick Cantlay, and Cameron Young and trails notable names including Rickie Fowler (-9), Jordan Spieth (-6), and Zac Blair
(-5).
Day three for Koivun gets underway at 8 a.m. CT on Saturday, where he will tee off from tee No. 1 alongside Zecheng Dou. Golf Channel will handle coverage from 1 p.m. CT to 3 p.m. CT, with Koivun's round expected to be the subject of several check-ins throughout the broadcast.
