Many people advocated for the Auburn Tigers to earn a spot in both the US LBM Coaches Poll and the Associated Press poll after their upset win over then-No. 1 Georgia on Oct. 17.
However, Auburn is far from a top-25 team after losing to LSU and Ole Miss in blowout fashion.
On Sunday, the latest AP Top 25 Rankings were released, with Ole Miss not moving up despite its 45-15 win over Auburn. The Rebels stay at No. 12 ahead of their matchup with No. 2 Georgia this week. Georgia moved up from No. 3 to No. 2 after defeating Florida, 27-8. The Gators dropped eight spots to No. 25 after the loss.
Both Kentucky and Alabama were off this week, but they moved up to No. 8 and No. 9. Texas also moved up one spot to No. 10 after a convincing 31-3 win over Mississippi
State. Tennessee (No. 16) and LSU (No. 15) were both off this week and did not move in the rankings. South Carolina is new in the rankings this week, checking in at No. 23 in the AP Poll after building a three-game winning streak.
Outside of the SEC, two Big Ten teams dropped in the rankings. Despite beating Minnesota in overtime, Indiana fell two spots to No. 8. Ohio State lost to USC in Los Angeles in its first game without quarterback Julian Sayin. That defeat dropped the Buckeyes from No. 2 to No. 11. Utah moved to No. 3 after defeating Cincinnati, 49-25.
