The calendar has flipped to November, and the toughest stretch of Auburn football's schedule is, thankfully, behind it.
Auburn played four games in October against teams ranked in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, earning one win against No. 2 Georgia. The reward for their endurance will be a November slate with only one ranked team.
Auburn's final game against a ranked opponent will come Saturday, Nov. 28, against No. 9 Alabama in the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa. Before the game in Bryant-Denny Stadium, Auburn will face unranked SEC foes Arkansas and Mississippi State in back-to-back weeks before hosting FCS Samford for its final nonconference game on Nov. 21. Because of this, Auburn is now in a great position to win the necessary six games to qualify
for bowl eligibility.
Eight SEC teams are ranked in this week's coaches poll. Ole Miss stays at No. 12 after defeating Auburn on Saturday and ahead of its game against the conference's highest-ranked team, Georgia. Kentucky moved up one spot to No. 7, and Alabama rounds out the top 10 at No. 9.
Texas and Ole Miss remain at No. 11 and No. 12, respectively, while Tennessee (No. 16), LSU (No. 17), and Missouri (No. 20) occupy the top 20. Florida dropped out of this week's ranking after losing to Georgia in Atlanta, and joins South Carolina in the "receiving votes" category.
