Auburn baseball's weekend schedule has been altered as Hurricane Isaias continues to strengthen.
The Tigers' fall exhibition against the Florida State Seminoles, originally scheduled for Saturday at Blue Wahoos Stadium in Pensacola, Florida, has been cancelled due to the threat of severe weather on the Gulf Coast and will not be made up. Thursday's exhibition against Mississippi State in Biloxi is still on as of this post's publication.
This weekend was slated to be the first time the general public could get a first look at the 2027 Auburn Tigers, a 2026 NCAA Super Regional qualifier that returns several key pieces, including pitchers Andreas Alvarez and Jake Marciano, catcher Chase Fralick, and outfielders Mason McCraine and Bub Terrell. Fans
will get only one chance to see the team when the Tigers battle Mississippi State in a 12-inning game on Thursday. Many players, including freshmen and incoming transfers, will have the chance to show off their talents as key spots need to be filled ahead of the new season.
"After this first weekend of playing outside competition I want us to be able to answer more questions," Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said ahead of Thursday's game (via Auburn 247). "In the past we've been in game mode and you still walk out of there with a lot of questions. I think I want more questions answered through this fall experience this year."
Auburn's fall exhibition against Mississippi State is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on Thursday at Keesler Federal Park in Biloxi, Mississippi.
