The Florida Gators are moving into the AP Top 25 after defeating the Auburn Tigers 44-39 in week three.
The Gators make their first appearance of the season in the rankings at No. 21 after their win at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday night. Florida was just outside the top 25 last week with 83 votes. They will not head back home to Gainesville to host the Ole Miss Rebels, who moved from No. 8 to No. 4 after defeating LSU and former head coach Lane Kiffin. LSU dropped three spots in the AP Top 25 to No. 10 after the defeat.
There are nine teams from the SEC in the latest ranking, with the biggest change being Texas A&M dropping 14 spots from No. 9 to No. 23 after an upset defeat to Kentucky. Alabama moved up two spots to No. 8 after a thrilling
50-36 victory over Florida State. Both Texas and Georgia remain at the top two spots after easy victories on Saturday. The Gators were not the only new SEC team in the rankings. Mississippi State gets in at No. 24 after a 41-34 victory over South Carolina on Saturday.
Just outside the top 25 was Kentucky with 98 votes after defeating Texas A&M 31-21. Oklahoma fell out of the rankings after being ranked No. 24 last week. The Sooners struggled for a 14-6 win over New Mexico in week three. For Auburn, they have six upcoming opponents that are featured in the AP Top 25. In two weeks, they will travel to face No. 14 Tennessee.
