Auburn football played last Saturday's game at Ole Miss without wide receiver Jeremiah Koger. DeShawn Spencer and Christian Neptune played well in Koger's absence, but having Koger back in the rotation will be vital to Auburn's success as the Tigers inch closer to bowl eligibility.
Auburn head coach Alex Golesh provided a positive update on Koger's status for Saturday's game against the Arkansas Razorbacks during Monday's press conference.
"He ran this morning. We're hoping to have them back. I'll have a way better idea on Wednesday," Golesh said Monday (via Tyler Raley of Auburn Undercover).
The SEC's initial Student-Athlete Availability Report for Week 10's action did provide some clarity and optimism that Koger will be available for Saturday.
He was listed as "questionable" in the report released Wednesday evening. According to the SEC's guidelines, "questionable" means that it is uncertain if a player will be available to play in their next game. However, the injury report will be updated Thursday and Friday evenings and 90 minutes before kickoff on Saturday, which gives Koger's status time to change before Saturday's game.
A pair of Auburn defensive backs also appeared on Wednesday's report. Cornerback Andre Jordan Jr. and safety Sylvester Smith-Reed join Koger as "questionable" for Saturday's game after exiting Week 9's game at Ole Miss. Tight end Hunter Henry's status has also been upgraded to "questionable" after he missed several weeks. Offensive lineman Tai Buster remains out for another week.
