The Tennessee Volunteers are moving up in the latest AP Top 25 after defeating Auburn 24-14 on Saturday in Knoxville.
The Volunteers entered the game ranked No. 17 after falling three spots with their Week 4 loss to No. 1 Texas 20-17. The win over the Tigers moved the Volunteers up two spots to No. 15. Tennessee used a solid performance from its defense and 220 yards from running back DeSean Bishop, along with three touchdowns. The Volunteers were the Auburn Tigers' first ranked opponent of the 2026 season when they played on Saturday. The Florida Gators were not ranked when they defeated Auburn 44-39 in week three.
Auburn has five future opponents ranked in the latest AP Top 25 that include Georgia (No. 2), Alabama (No. 6), Ole Miss (No.9), LSU
(No. 10), and Mississippi State (No. 17). Auburn's week three opponent, the Florida Gators, dropped from No. 8 to No. 16 after a 45-17 defeat by the Missouri Tigers.
For Missouri, the win gave them a jump of 11 spots from No. 25 to No. 14. Texas stays at No. 1 after being on their bye week, and Georgia stays at No. 2 after defeating Vanderbilt 38-14. Georgia will travel to Tuscaloosa in week six to face No. 6 Alabama in the biggest game of the week. The Crimson Tide moved up one spot after an impressive 56-23 win over Mississippi State.
