The Auburn Tigers have received a commitment from four-star point guard Jason Gardner Jr., according to Joe Tipton of Rivals.
The Tigers have been recruiting the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder since Dec. 20, 2025, when they offered him a scholarship. He picked them over the Florida Gators, Indiana Hoosiers, Stanford Cardinal, and DePaul Blue Demons. He made his first trip to Auburn on Sept. 19 for his official visit, and eight days later he made his commitment.
Gardner is ranked as the No. 64 overall player and No. 21 point guard in the Rivals industry ranking. The Indianapolis native is also the No. 5 player from Indiana.
He is Auburn's first commitment in the 2027 recruiting cycle and gives head coach Steven Pearl a player to build around. While he is undersized,
Auburn's offense has thrived with undersized point guards who excel at attacking the rim, where they can create for teammates or score. Gardner has done that throughout his high school career and will allow him to make an immediate impact, even if he needs to continue to improve his shooting.
He was limited to just seven games as a junior at Fisher High School, but averaged 20.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. He shot 57.1% from the field and the free-throw line. He has played in 62 games during his career, averaging 10.5 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.5 rebounds, with his production increasing each season.
