The Auburn Tigers added a quality piece to their 2027 recruiting class on Tuesday when four-star forward Davis Cochran announced his commitment.
Cochran is the No. 2 overall recruit from Tennessee in the 2027 recruiting cycle and ranks No. 23 nationally among forwards in the class. He is also the second player to commit to Auburn's 2027 class, joining top-15 combo guard Jason Gardner Jr.
from Fishers, Indiana.How did Cochran's commitment affect Auburn's national recruiting ranking? The Tigers are now No. 20 in 247Sports' rankings, with two players ranked in the national top 125. Cochran is the No. 123 player in the 2026 class, and Gardner ranks No. 67.
The Tigers also have a respectable class when compared to their SEC peers. Auburn ranks No.
4 in the SEC following Cochran's commitment, trailing only LSU, Missouri, and Georgia. Kentucky is next, followed by Alabama, Florida, Mississippi State, South Carolina, and Texas A&M. Arkansas, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas, and Vanderbilt have not landed a commitment in the 2027 recruiting cycle and are not included in 247Sports' 2027 recruiting rankings.
