The Auburn Tigers just pulled off a massive upset over the previously top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs, completely changing the outlook of the rest of their season.
According to the ESPN FPI, Auburn now has a 96% chance at picking up six wins this season. The projected record is now 7.2 wins and 4.8 losses. The Tigers now have potential wins against Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Samford before the annual Iron Bowl versus Alabama. The Tigers will close out October with two tough squads: LSU at home this Saturday and Ole Miss on the road on Halloween.
The Tigers were trending to finish 5-7 before the Georgia game, according to the FPI, and Auburn would need to upset one of its upcoming opponents to avoid a sixth consecutive losing season. However,
after beating Georgia in Week 7, a winning season is now possible.
