In the season opener against the Buffalo Bills, the Houston Texans offense put up 31 points. However, since he suffered his hamstring injury in practice and missed the past two games, Houston’s offense has only put up 23 points.
With Collins returning in Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys, the Texans have a chance to get back on track and finally get their first win of the season. Offensive coordinator Nick Caley reacted to Collins coming back.
"Nico's a stud. Just having him back and just being out there, there's joy and energy and all those things. I think with him just getting back to Nico being a part of what we do,” Caley said. “We're all excited for that. I think he'll bring a competitiveness, a spirit. Guy never has a bad day. Guy's always
coming to work and great energy. It'll enhance the energy too. Happy to have him back out there."
Collins coming back will not fix Houston’s problems in the run game which is one of the worst in the NFL through the first three weeks. The Texans only have 254 rushing yards in the first three games and 3.6 yards per attempt. So far, David Montgomery has not been the answer the Texans are looking for but at least Collins can provide a boost to the passing game.
