Where do the Houston Texans stack up in FPI rankings following their 27-21 loss to the New York Giants in Week 7?

After another blown lead and comeback fashion from a different opponent, the Texans have fallen down to a 1.5 Football Power Index (FPI) rating from ESPN

, which ranks 14th in the NFL. Last week, Houston was at No. 12 in the FPI index with a 1.9 rating after a walk-off win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

According to ESPN, the FPI is "a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team's performance going forward for the rest of the season.

"FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Projected results are based on 10,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to

date, and the remaining schedule."

So with that background in mind, here's a look at how the league's 32 teams stack up based on ESPN's FPI ratings going into the Texans' bye week and what could be considered the halfway point of the 2026 NFL season.
