TheHouston Texans officially announced that wide receiver Tank Dell will play in Week 7's game against the New York Giants. It will be his first NFL game since his devastating injury back in December of 2024.
Houston’s wide receiver room looks much different now than it did in 2024. Stefon Diggs is now with the Washington Commanders, while John Metchie is with the Carolina Panthers. Plus, the Texans also made some additions with Kayshon Boutte and Marvin Harrison Jr.
Nico Collins and Xavier Hutchinson are still with the team, as is tight end Dalton Schultz.
With Houston’s stacked receiver room, it is a little difficult to see where Dell fits into the picture. However, head coach DeMeco Ryans is expecting big things from Dell, who is as fast as ever and
should put stress on New York’s secondary.
“As we all know, Tank is an explosive player. He's still quick as ever. As our defenders who was covering him the past couple weeks, he's been putting us in some tough matchups and practice the past two weeks. I expect him to go out on Sunday and do the same thing,” Ryans said. “Really stress defenders and that's what Tank is going to do with his speed, his playmaking ability. He's going to stress defenders and you add them in a mix with all of the other guys that we have. We just have a really good group of guys, a lot of guys who are capable of making big time explosive plays for us.”
Every win matters for the Texans after starting the season 0-4, but winning their past two games. New York is going into this game with a lot of questions as well.
After losing their starting quarterback in Week 2 and putting J.J. McCarthy in the game last week, the Giants are now evaluating whether McCarthy or Jameis Winston will start this game. It would not be surprising to see McCarthy get the start.
Kickoff on CBS is scheduled for Noon CT.
