Even with the monster performance All-Pro defensive end Will Anderson Jr.had against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3, it was not enough to give the Houston Texans their first win of the season. Now, they're sitting at 0-3 for the second season in a row and need a win in Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Houston has put themselves in quite the hole in the division. The Jacksonville Jaguars are on top with a 2-1 record while the Colts are 1-3 and the Texans and Tennessee Titans are both sitting winless at the bottom of the AFC South. Anderson addressed the pressure on the team after another 0-3 start to the year.
"I look at it like this, man. We can hold our heads down and everybody can be around here moping around and sad and, 'Man, what's going
on?' Or we can pick each other up, look ourselves in the mirror, be grown men,” Anderson said. “We get paid to do a job. Go do your job. I think that's the approach that we're taking and bring guys along with you. Nobody's going to walk around sad because then it's just energy vampires. Then everybody's down. Then we're really not going to win the game because everybody's slouching around. Everybody has to have joy. It starts with DeMeco [Ryans].
"Everybody can be frustrated. But at the end of the day, when we touch that grass, that's your opportunity to go get better and show what you need to go do. That's your opportunity to go be in the right spot when you need to go be in the right spot. I think that's just the thing right now, man. Y'all are getting me hyped up here."
Dallas is coming into this game with a 1-2 record. They are also in need of a win, as they are also sitting at the bottom of their division with the Washington Commanders, while the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants are on top with 2-1 records.
