With rosters being finalized, it's time for the Houston Texans to pick their numbers for the 2026 season.
For the most part, a majority of players are staying put with what they wore in the preseason, but several newcomers have decided to make a switch.
New wide receiver Kayshon Boutte will wear No. 14 following the release of Treyvhon Saunders. Last season, he wore No. 9 with the New England Patriots, but after Houston re-signed tight end Brevin Jordan, the speedy big-play machine had to pick a new number.
Jared Wayne, a surprise standout in training camp, switched his number from No. 89 to No. 17. This marks the third number change for the veteran pass-catcher in three seasons. As a rookie, he wore No. 14 on the practice squad. A year later,
he switched over to No. 89.

Sebastian Harsh, the surprise undrafted free defensive end out of NC State, will now be starting his tenure on the 53-man roster with a different number following the trade of Jarrett Patterson. Initially wearing No. 74, he'll decrease that total by 20 to No. 54, a number close to home since it was his jersey in college with the Wolfpack.
New starting center Evan Brown once again will switch numbers, but after starting off with No. 67, he'll revert back to his old number with the Arizona Cardinals at No. 63. Initially, that number belonged to Jarret Kingston throughout training camp.
After trading for Nathan Thomas from the Dallas Cowboys, a number needed to be assigned to the offensive tackle. While he can play either side of the line, the 6-foot-6 tackle will try to channel his inner Laremy Tunsil when wearing No. 78. This will be new for Thomas, as during his time in Arlington he wore No. 62 and No. 71. Even back when playing at Louisiana, he rocked the No. 50
