Montgomery, the newest star of the Houston Texans, scored the first touchdown of the 2026 season, giving the Texans a 7-3 lead at the end of the first quarter in their season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

The touchdown capped off a 12-play, 76-yard drive after Buffalo’s field goal. This is Houston’s first lead of the game. The Bills begin the second quarter already in Texans territory. Houston’s defense needs a stop to maintain their lead.

Montgomery, a Pro Bowl running back with the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions, secured his 60th career score with the run.

The Texans will begin the second half on offense.
