Things have not gone the way the Houston Texans would have liked, but at least they have seen progress from one of their young wide receivers, Xavier Hutchinson. Although he only had three catches in their overtime loss to the Texans, Hutchinson also had a touchdown that sent the game into overtime.
Over the course of the season, Hutchison has 21 receptions for 258 receiving yards. His touchdown against the Giants was his first touchdown of the season. Quarterback C.J. Stroud shared his reaction to Hutchinson’s performance against New York after the game.
“I thought he played great. He did a great job even in special teams and he was making some big plays with the ball in his hands,” Stroud said. “He's always reliable and a very dynamic playmaker
and just really excited to get him some touches in the game. We have to find a way to get everybody the ball and find ways to create more explosives.”

Especially after Jaylin Noel’s turf toe, which is expected to keep him out for the rest of the season, Hutchinson will need to step up for the rest of the season, starting with Houston’s next game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Nov. 8.
Through the first seven weeks, the Chargers are the only team in the NFL without a win. With a 2-4 record, Houston needs this win to try and salvage this season and keep any chance at the playoffs alive.
