The Houston Texans significantly boosted their wide receiver room when they traded for Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who played with Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud at Ohio State.
According to NFL insiders Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, Houston traded a 2027 second round pick and a 2027 sixth round pick in exchange for Harrison Jr and a 2027 seventh round pick. Arizona made it clear they were going to trade Harrison Jr and the Texans were widely rumored to be the team he would go to.
Harrison, the son of Hall of Fame receiver Marvin Harrison, has not panned out for Arizona. He only had five receptions through the first four games despite being targeted 13 times. His best season came during his rookie year when he was targeted 113
times and had nearly 900 receiving yards.
However, he missed some time with an injury last season and was not doing much of anything this year. Houston will be hoping that a chance of scenery and reuniting with his college quarterback will allow Harrison Jr to become the receiver everyone thought he would be coming out of college.

This is now Houson’s second trade for a wide receiver after trading with the New England Patriots for Kayshon Boutte. However, Boutte has not been very involved so far with only nine receptions for 115 yards and he is still looking for his first touchdown of the year.
After getting their first win of the season, the Texans are trying to claw their way back into the playoff conversation even though they are sitting with a 1-4 record. However, they will get a chance to defeat the top team in the AFC South next week in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars which should be Harrison Jr’s debut for the Texans.
