For the second week in a row, the Houston Texans will be without Pro Bowl wide receiver Nico Collins. For fantasy owners withtight end Dalton Schultz, this is actually a positive development as far as the kind of production he can have in this game.
Last week without Collins, Schultz was easily quarterback C.J. Stroud’s favorite target with a total of 14 targets which he turned into 12 receptions for 140 yards. With the Texans going against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3 as they try to get their first win of the year, this is an even better opportunity for Schultz to really help fantasy owners.
Indianapolis’ defense has struggled throughout the first two games of the season, allowing over 500 total yards in each week as well as over 300 passing
yards in those games. Furthermore, through the first two weeks, the Colts have given up the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends. Everyone knows the ball is going to go to Dalton Schultz, but Indianapolis is not going to be able to stop them.
There are not many teams where the tight end is the top receiving target, which gives Schultz an advantage over every tight end in the NFL for fantasy purposes. He is also flying under the radar despite his breakout performance as he is still available in over 35 percent of ESPN fantasy leagues. So, if you have questions at tight end going into this week and Schultz is available in your league, pick him up and put him in your starting lineup for this game.
