The Wisconsin Badgers continue to add to an already impressive group of future talent.
Wisconsin has landed a commitment from forward Ethan Sun, a 2009-born prospect from Los Angeles who was recently a standout, recording four goals and two assists in five games, for Team USA at the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup. The news was first reported by College Puck NXT on X.
The young forward has already established himself as an intriguing prospect well beyond his 57 points in 53 games with the Shattuck St. Mary's U18 Team. Elite Prospects lists sung at 5-foot-7 and 165 pounds, while noting his quickness and ability to thrive against bigger opponents.
Sung is also already connected to the USHL, having been selected by the Sioux Falls Stampede in the 2025 USHL Futures
Draft. Elite Prospects lists his commitment for the 2028-29 season.
For the Badgers, this is another exciting addition to the program's future recruiting pipeline. Wisconsin has become one of the premier destinations for young American hockey talent, and adding a player who has already represented Team USA on an international stage is another encouraging development for the program.
Sung still has plenty of development ahead of him before he arrives in Madison, but his combination of production, pedigree and recent international success makes him a player worth keeping an eye on.
