Officially, this is set to be the 100th all-time meeting between theWisconsin Badgers and Iowa Hawkeyes.
There's nothing quite like rivalry week, and while the Battle for the Heartland Trophy hasn't gone the Badgers' way in a few years, that should only add more fuel to the fire.
Iowa dominated UW last season, 37-0. Badgers fans will remember that it came in a six-game stretch in which they scored a combined 41 points from Sept. 13 to Oct. 25.
The Hawkeyes have been in possession of the trophy since 2022. Wisconsin hasn't beaten Iowa since Oct. 30, 2021, when they took care of business 27-7 in Madison.
UW's last win in Iowa City was on Sept. 22, 2018, so it's been eight years since the Badgers have gone to Kinnick Stadium and taken care of business.
Wisconsin barely leads the all-time series vs. Iowa
All-time, Wisconsin is 49-48-2 against Iowa. The Badgers are just 20-27-1 on the road, so that's certainly something to monitor ahead of their Big Noon Kickoff on Halloween.
This current four-game skid is tied for the second longest, but it's nowhere near as bad as when Iowa won 10 straight from 1985 to 1996.
A 10-10 tie in 1984 helped lessen the blow as Iowa had also won seven in a row from 1977 to 1983.
When was the first ever meeting?
UW took care of business in the first-ever meeting between these two teams, 44-0, on Oct. 29, 1894.
They wouldn't meet again until 1906, but it's worth noting that Wisconsin won its first six games against Iowa.
