Just four games into the year, the Wisconsin Badgers women's hockey program is set for a national championship rematch with Ohio State.
UW is off to a strong 4-0 start to the year. They went to New York and took down St. Lawrence University, 6-2 and 6-0, then crushed Boston University 7-0 and 4-1 in Madison.
When the Week 2 USCHO Division 1 Women's Poll
was revealed, all eyes were on the Badgers' next opponent: Ohio State. The Buckeyes are set to host back-to-back games against the team that beat them in the national championship two years in a row, so it doesn't get much bigger than this.
To no surprise, Wisconsin remained No. 1 in the poll while Ohio State sits at No. 2.
Ohio State is also a perfect 4-0, but they're already 2-0 in conference play
after they just defeated St. Thomas in a pair of games that finished 5-2.
OSU's first game of the year went to overtime, but they were able to pull out a win against Penn State at the Pegula Ice Arena, the same place where they lost the 2026 national championship game.
They defeated the Nittany Lions in both games to begin the year, 2-1.
