Despite losing to Wisconsin in the last two National Championship games, Ohio State has opened as the 2026-27 women's hockey preseason No. 1 team.
Wisconsin sits at No. 2 in the WCHA Preseason Coaches Poll. The Badgers received only two first-place votes compared to the Buckeyes' six.
In total, Wisconsin had 44 points while Ohio State had 48, and that was the deciding factor as these two teams continue to duke it out, even in the offseason.

It was recently announced that Wisconsin will play Ohio State at the historic Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI, as part of a thrilling Badger hockey doubleheader on February 20, 2027.
Remember, Wisconsin and Ohio State have played each other in three straight
National Championship games. That could very well be another preview of what's to come in Duluth, Minnesota, as the Badgers eye a third consecutive National Championship under head coach Mark Johnson.
