USC, which is No. 14 in both the AP and US LBM Coaches Poll, took care of business against San Jose State, 42-26.
The remaining 17 teams will make their season debut in Week 1 against a wide variety of non-conference opponents.
For example, the Wisconsin Badgers don't play until Sunday, September 6, when they head to Lambeau Field for the 2026 Shamrock Series against Notre Dame (No. 4 in AP, No. 5 in US LBM).
Rutgers, Minnesota, and Illinois will all host non-conference opponents on Thursday, September 3, with three more Big Ten games taking place on Friday, September 4.
In total, 10 Big Ten teams will kick off their 2026 season on Saturday, September 5, and then
Washington and Wisconsin take part in a doubleheader on NBC the day after to close the book on Week 1 action.
