For the first time in 26 years, the Wisconsin Badgers are set to do battle with the UCLA Bruins.
UCLA comes into this one with a major question mark next to their starting quarterback as they recently learned they'd be without Nico Iamaleava for the rest of the season.
Now, all eyes are on a red-hot Badgers team that is coming off a bye week.
In primetime, on NBC, one could only imagine how the trajectory of this Wisconsin program could turn if they knocked off a UCLA team that is both No. 12 in the AP Poll and the US LBM Coaches Poll.
Wisconsin Badgers vs. UCLA Bruins series history
All-time, UCLA leads the series 7-4. Wisconsin is an astonishing 0-5 at home, so it's great to see they're 3-2 on the road, knowing this game will be taking place at the historic Rose Bowl.
That said, Wisconsin has
won the last three meetings between these teams.
UW got the job done in 1993 (21-16), 1998 (38-31), and 2000 (21-20).
The Badgers have never beaten the Bruins by more than seven points, so that's definitely something to monitor going into their 12th all-time meeting.
First meeting: 1938
It's been almost 100 years since these two teams played each other for the first time. Back in 1938, UW went to Pasadena, California, and took down UCLA, 14-7.
UCLA would then win the next seven meetings. These teams played each other in four consecutive seasons from 1979-82, but then had an 11-year break before the Badgers emerged victorious in '93.
Officially, this will be their first-ever conference game.
